Yesterday, December 6th we had an appointment at the Canadian Embassy, this appointment was also scheduled for 9:00am. We got downstairs for
breakfast by 8:00am, and than had to walk over to Mary's Hotel to catch our Taxi. This was the very last bit of paperwork that we had to complete, this appointment was to apply for Canadian Citizenship. We should receive Jayda's temporary Canadian Passport by next Thursday Dec. 14th or Friday Dec. 15th, its really cutting it close since our flight is scheduled for Sunday Dec. 16th, as well we found out the office where everything is getting processed through in Singapore is closed on Wed. for a holiday, so hoping everything goes smooth and there are no delays. After our appointment which finished around 10:30 am we all decided to meet at the Museum of Ethnology. First we went back to the Hotel to pick up a few things, I had to drop off some laundry and than we taxied to the Museum. Its actually an outdoor Museum and features all the different homes of the various Ethnic Minorities, it was quite interesting. We had a fabulous lunch first and than wandered around outside. The weather, for the first time in awhile was warm and sunny, so nice to have the sun, we had a great time. We finished up at the Museum and than wandered into there gift shop, the prices here are out of this world. Unbelievably inexpensive, really hard to imagine how inexpensive everything really is, gorgeous scarves and handbags, wall hangings starting at 60,000 dong ($3.00), all handmade. These are prices we see everywhere around here. If anyone has any special requests let me know, I have lots of time to shop now : ) We left the Museum after our shopping and headed back to our Hotel
for a nap. Jayda actually didnt nap because she had fallen asleep while
I was inside the gift shop and in the taxi ride home, my kind of girl,
love that she can sleep anywhere and can accomodate our busy lifestyle, were not a
scheduled family so this works out great!! We had made plans to go to
the Water Puppet Show with everyone, but at the end it didnt work out,
so we just met up with Mary and Wade for a quick dinner at the Gecko, by
this time it was already 7:00pm. The girls had a blast, the young
waiter that works at this place has come to know us quite well, he has so much
fun with the girls, and they just have the run of the place. Tonight
they discovered the drums, and they had fun drumming away. We stayed
around till around 9:00 pm and than headed back to the Hotel to get some
sleep.
